Dr. Vancho Chabukovski is a Full Professor of Computer Science at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, UKIM in Skopje. His research interests include intelligent systems, software agents, cloud computing, IoT, e-learning, big data analytics, and EEG signal processing.
He earned his PhD in Computer Science from UKIM. He holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Before his academic career (in 1988), he worked as a software engineer at the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje. He was awarded two British Council scholarships (1985 and 1993), during which he conducted advanced biomedical computing research in EEG analysis and epilepsy modeling at Imperial College London.
His academic progression includes appointments as Assistant Professor (2001), Associate Professor (2006), and Full Professor (2011). Throughout his career, he has taught numerous undergraduate and postgraduate courses in computer science.
He is the author of over 60 peer-reviewed papers, 20+ books and textbooks, has participated in 20+ national and international projects, and is the author of 25+ software solutions.
He was the founder and editor-in-chief of the Macedonian journal of Informatics "Informa" . He developed digital systems (Informa BBS, MATEIS). He has held executive roles in several IT organizations (MEDIS Informatika – Skopje, Informa IT – Skopje, ISL – Dubai, Chabukai6 Ltd. – United Kingdom). He also served as a consultant to the World Bank and as Director of Informatics and Telecommunications at MEPSO. Since 1995, he has been a member of the 21st Century Trust in London.
He has collaborated with institutions across Europe and Australia, including Imperial College London, Queen Mary University of London, University of Leeds, University of Bath, Monash University, the Royal School of Library and Information Science (Copenhagen), University of Zagreb, and Jagiellonian University in Krakow. Since 2019, Professor Chabukovski has been a Visiting Academic (Professor), at the Department of Electronics and Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, University of Southampton, where he participates in research collaboration and academic activities.
Currently, his work focuses on developing methodologies, educational materials, and teaching approaches for digital skills and coding education for autistic adults. He is the coordinator of the Erasmus+ project "Designing Educational Materials and Teaching Digital Literacy to Individuals with Autism".
